Google Drive provides 15.0GB of data for free, and many people are using it. Today, I will post about the function of easily double-backing up data by synchronizing (auto-saving) my computer PC and Google Drive.
The meaning of backup (auto-save) is the connection that data is automatically saved and backed up from the functional aspect of Google Drive.
The posting order is as follows.
1. Install Drive for Google Drive Desktop 구글 저장된 페이지
2. Sync your computer in Drive
Install Drive for Google Drive Desktop 윤과장의 소소한 일상 이야기
On the Google main page, select the Google app (number 1) and click Drive (number 2) below.
To sync data stored on Google Drive, click the gear-shaped Settings button (number 1), then click Download Drive for Desktop.
Click Download Drive for Desktop at the bottom of the picture.
When you click download, the executable file exe is automatically downloaded at the bottom of the window. When the download is complete, double-click the executable file.
When prompted to allow Google Drive Installer, click Yes to proceed to the next step.
Would you like to install Google Drive? A message window will appear, select Add Shortcut to the checkbox as shown below and click Install.
When installation is complete, click Close.
When Google Drive account login appears as shown below, click Login. If you have already logged in, the window below can be omitted.
Completed below and logged in.
When I check my PC drive, a virtual Google drive is created as shown below. You can directly upload data to My Drive by clicking Google Drive (G).
Sync your computer in Drive
If you click Computer under My Drive, it will say that there are no computers syncing as shown below. Let’s take advantage of the function to easily double back up data by synchronizing my PC and Google Drive.
If Google Drive is installed, there is a Google Drive icon in the hidden icon on the right as shown below. If not, it’s because the drive is shutting down. Just run the Google Drive shortcut button you just installed on your desktop.
Select the drive icon below and click it with the mouse.
When you click the drive icon button, the drive information window appears as shown below. Click the gear-shaped settings button in the upper right corner to select environment settings.
In Google Drive Preferences, click the Add Folder button below. You just need to set one folder on My Computer to back up. I will specify the name of the Google Backup folder and select it.
If you select the Google backup folder through File Open, the settings will appear as shown below. Select it and click the Done button.
A message appears saying files in 1 folder are being synced to your computer. If there is any data in the folder, it will take some time. And click the save button.
Now, if you check it in the Google Drive browser, you can see that it has been synchronized with my computer. If you move important data to the folder you just created, it will automatically be mounted on Google Drive for double data backup.
As an example, let’s move the files into the folder we just created as shown below.
Data is automatically saved (synchronized) to the computer drive as shown below.
If you click the drive icon at the bottom right, you can see that the file you just moved is synchronized (saved).
As another example, let’s copy to Google Drive instead of the Google Backup folder we just created.
The file was mounted on my drive and not on my computer below.
There doesn’t seem to be any difference in usage, but even if you transfer files to the virtual Google Drive and then delete them from My Computer, the files remain in the Google Drive. Conversely, if you delete a file from My Drive in your web browser, the file will remain on your computer.
Unlike this, synchronization (auto-save) through a designated computer folder deletes data in both places at once when one side is deleted, and the data is synchronized. Of course, in the process of being connected to the Internet.
You can think of the difference as the difference between one-way and two-way.
You can use My Drive and designated computer folders according to your convenience.
If you don’t understand, I would like to see the video of using Google Drive below.
Above, I will finish posting about computer data backup and synchronization (auto-save) in Google Drive.
