When proving an individual’s identity, in most cases, an offline resident registration card or driver’s license is presented. However, now that online activities are active, it has become common to verify personal identity through an ID card used on the web or a public certificate (joint certificate). In this post, we are going to learn how to issue a Hometax accredited certificate, that is, a joint business certificate.
An accredited certificate is a necessary tool not only for individuals but also for general business owners. In particular, it is one of the starter kit courses for individual entrepreneurs who are now starting to thrive because it is almost essential when issuing electronic tax invoices through Hometax. When used for general purposes, it will only be applied for the purpose of issuing tax invoices, but issuing a general-purpose joint certificate for businesses is advantageous in many ways because it provides conditions that meet various usage purposes as well as electronic tax invoices. 홈택스 공동인증서
The Korea Universal Certification Center clearly separates the concept and usage of the joint certificate and explains it. I also usually use the joint certificate only for viewing and issuing electronic tax invoices. It became quite cumbersome as I had to manage multiple joint certificates separately. 윤과장의 소소한 일상 이야기
However, the common business certificate issued by the Korea Universal Certification Center can be used for almost all purposes, such as Internet banking, public procurement service and Nara Market electronic bidding/contract, project cost management and national project/R&B, as well as for electronic tax invoice purposes.
If so, how can I get a general-purpose joint certificate for businesses like this? First of all, through the Korea Universal Certification Center, you can select the type of business that applies to you, either as a sole proprietor or as a corporation. This process is also a system where you can get a certificate by submitting documents after applying online. You can see the process through the video below.
I opted for the personal business general purpose certificate. You can choose between 1, 2, and 3 years. Among them, the most expensive 3-year model caught my eye first. In fact, it looks expensive, but if you look closely, you don’t need to renew for many years, and it’s much more economical (only if you apply as an on-site service).
If you have selected the joint certificate period, you can choose one of the two document submission methods as the following process. There are two types of issuance: same-day issuance and on-site service. If you need issuance immediately, you can apply for same-day issuance, which is a direct visit, or a service that makes it come to you without having to visit it.
In the case of in-person visits, you can choose the institution you want to visit. There are a total of 16 institutions for submitting documents, 13 of which are the National Public Procurement Service, and the remaining three can be visited at the Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Gwangju centers. However, visits can be processed between 9 am and 6 pm, excluding lunch hours from 12 to 13 pm.
In the case of the visiting service, if you apply within 11 am on weekdays by submitting the documents from the post office, the actual issuance time is somewhat delayed compared to visiting in person because the visit is the next day.
However, in the case of a busy single-person company that has a lot of personal work and competes for a second, if it is not urgent, it can be solved in this way. For reference, face-to-face confirmation from the post office is mandatory in the case of a visit service. (In-person visits are also required to confirm face-to-face)
Regardless of which method is issued, we will find out what documents are actually required. Once the representative himself/herself submits documents, a copy of the business registration certificate and a copy of his/her ID are required along with the original application form with a handwritten signature. The original seal certificate, a copy of the business registration certificate, and a representative’s ID are required.
The image on the left is an application required for submitting documents, and if you submit this application and other documents, you can receive the certificate issuance notice on the right. You can now issue a certificate according to this issuance guide.
So far, we have looked at the general-purpose joint certificate for business operators for issuing Hometax accredited certificates. I think it was a good idea to change it because it is much more comfortable to use from the operator’s point of view because it is used as a joint certificate with no usage restrictions. The issuance method itself is not difficult, so please refer to the shortcut below if you want to easily obtain a general-purpose joint certificate for business like me. Thanks for reading. 🙂
